Dr. Giannopoulos is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has ample expertise in Obstetrical and Gynecologic care.  Dr. G also has extensive experience in both Obstetrical and Gynecologic surgery, including minimally invasive surgery and Robotic surgery.  

Dr. Giannopoulos received her undergraduate education at Fordham University – Lincoln Center, completing the pre-medical program and graduating with a Bachelor of Science.  She then participated in research essential to the medical field.  Dr. Giannopoulos attended American University of Antigua College of Medicine, an internationally recognized medical school which provided education of the highest quality.  

Dr. Giannopoulos completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency training at Morristown Medical Center and graduated as Chief Resident and certified in Robotic Surgery.  

After her extensive training, Dr. Giannopoulos obtained her New York State Medical Licenseand joined a prestigious private practice in Garden City, New York, where she continues to practice. Dr. Giannopoulos performs deliveries and surgeries at New York University Langone.  

 Throughout her education and career, she has participated in expansive research, publications, and awareness programs.  She has received several awards including the Clinical Excellence Award in Gynecology Surgery, Attending of the Year at New York University, and the American College of Obstetrician and Gynecologists 2023 ACOG District II Mentor Award.

Why did I become an Obstetrician- Gynecologist?

Becoming an OB-GYN stemmed from my deep interest in women's health, a desire to provide care throughout the various stages of a woman's life, and my passion for combining surgery with patient care. This specialty is unique, and I truly enjoy the continuity of care—from adolescence, through pregnancy, to menopause—and the opportunity to form lasting relationships with my patients. I was drawn to the mix of medical and surgical challenges, and to the ability to make a significant impact on both maternal and fetal health.

What specifically inspired me was the first time I delivered a baby as a medical student during my Obstetrics rotation.   It was the most meaningful experience I have ever had. 

It solidified my deep passion for taking of women and women’s health and wellness. It also ignited the joy I experience in bringing new life into the world.  It is a miracle. That moment has a significant impact on my patient’s lives, their families’ lives, and my life. It's a privilege to be part of such important moment in life. 

My career is a combination of passion and dedication to make a real difference in the lives of the women I care for. 

 

Why did I develop a prenatal vitamin?
